1990³â´ë ÈÄ¹Ý ¹Ì±¹¿¡¼­ ÁÖÀǷ°áÇÌ °úÀ×ÇൿÀå¾ÖAttention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD)¿¡ ´ëÇÑ °¢Á¾ Ä¡·áÀÇ È¿°ú¼º¿¡ ´ëÇØ ³í¶õÀÌ ÀÏÀÚ, À̸¦ ÇØ°áÇϱâ À§ÇØ ¹Ì±¹¸³Á¤½Åº¸°Ç¿øNational Institute of Mental Health(NIMH)¿¡¼­´Â ADHD ¾Æµ¿À» À§ÇÑ ´Ù¾çÇÑ ¹æ½ÄÀÇ Ä¡·á¹ý ¿¬±¸Multimodal Treatment Study of Children With ADHD(MTA)¸¦ ½ÃÇàÇÏ¿©, 1999³â ¾à¹°Ä¡·á¿Í ÀÎÁöÇൿġ·á¸¦ º´ÇÕÇÑ Ä¡·á°¡ °¡Àå È¿°úÀûÀÓÀ» ¹àÇô³Â´Ù. ÇÏÁö¸¸, ÀÌ ¿¬±¸´Â ¸¸6¼¼ ÀÌÈÄÀÇ ¾Æµ¿À» ´ë»óÀ¸·Î ¼öÇàµÇ¾ú±â ¶§¹®¿¡, ¸¸6¼¼ ¹Ì¸¸ÀÇ ¾Æµ¿¿¡¼­ ADHD·Î Áø´ÜµÉ °æ¿ì ¾à¹°Ä¡·áÀÇ È¿°ú¼ºÀ̳ª ºÎÀÛ¿ëÀ» ¿¹ÃøÇϱ⠾î·Á¿ü´Ù. ¶ÇÇÑ, ¸¸6¼¼ ÀÌ»óÀÇ ADHD·Î Áø´ÜµÈ ¾Æµ¿À̳ª û¼Ò³âÀÇ Æ¯¼º ¹× Àå±âÀûÀ¸·Î ÃßÀû °üÂûÇÑ ¿¬±¸´Â ¸¹¾ÒÀ¸³ª, ¸¸6¼¼ ¹Ì¸¸ÀÇ ¾î¸° ³ªÀÌ¿¡ ADHD·Î Áø´ÜµÈ ¾Æµ¿À» Àå±âÀûÀ¸·Î ÃßÀû °üÂûÇÑ ¿¬±¸´Â 2000³â´ë ÃʹݱîÁö´Â ¾ø¾ú´Ù.


µû¶ó¼­ ¸¸6¼¼ ¹Ì¸¸ÀÇ ¾ÆÁÖ ¾î¸° ³ªÀÌ¿¡ Á¶±â Áø´ÜµÈ ADHD ¾Æµ¿ÀÇ Æ¯¼ºÀ» »ìÇÇ°í, ¾à¹°Ä¡·á¸¦ ½ÃÇàÇÏ¿© È¿°ú¿Í ºÎÀÛ¿ëÀ» »ìÆ캸°í, ÀÌÈÄ ¼ö³â°£ °æ°ú¸¦ »ìÆ캸´Â ¿¬±¸°¡ 2001³â¿¡ ±¹¸³Á¤½Åº¸°Ç¿ø ÁÖµµ·Î ±âȹµÇ¾úÀ¸¸ç, Ä÷³ºñ¾Æ´ëÇÐ, µàÅ©´ëÇÐ, Á¸½ºÈ©Å²½º´ëÇÐ, ´º¿å´ëÇÐ, Ķ¸®Æ÷´Ï¾ÆÁÖ¸³´ëÇÐ(UCLA), Ķ¸®Æ÷´Ï¾ÆÁÖ¸³´ëÇÐ(UC Irvine) µî ¸ðµÎ 6°÷ÀÇ ¿¬±¸ÁøÀÌ Âü¿©ÇÏ¿´´Ù.
ÀϽÃÀûÀÎ ÀûÀÀÀÇ ¹®Á¦³ª ºÎ¸ðÀÚ³à °ü°è¹®Á¦·Î ADHDó·³ º¸ÀÌ´Â °æ¿ì¸¦ ¹èÁ¦Çϱâ À§ÇØ, º¸´Ù ¾ö°ÝÇÑ Áø´Ü±âÁØÀ» Àû¿ëÇÏ¿´°í, ¾Æµ¿ÀÇ Àü¹ÝÀû ±â´ÉÆò°¡Children¡®s Global Assessment of Functioning Scale(CGAS) »ó 55Á¡ ÀÌÇÏ¿¡ ÇØ´çÇÏ´Â Áõ»óÀÌ ½É°¢ÇÑ ¾Æµ¿À» ¼±ÅÃÇÏ¿´´Ù. ¸¸ 3~5.5¼¼ ¿¬·ÉÀÎ ¾Æµ¿ 303¸íÀÌ ´ë»óÀÚ·Î ¼±Á¤µÇ¾úÀ¸¸ç, ÀÌ Áß 69.6%´Â Àû´ëÀû ¹ÝÇ×Àå¾Ö, ÀÇ»ç¼ÒÅëÀå¾Ö, ºÒ¾ÈÀå¾Ö¿Í °°Àº µ¿¹ÝÁúȯÀ» °¡Áö°í ÀÖ¾ú´Ù. ADHD Áõ»óÀÌ ½É°¢ÇÒ¼ö·Ï ºÒ¾ÈÀ̳ª ¿ì¿ï °°Àº Á¤¼­ÀûÀÎ ¹®Á¦°¡ ¸¹¾ÒÀ¸¸ç ±â´ÉÀÌ ¶³¾îÁ³´Ù. ³²³à ºñÀ²Àº 3:1 Á¤µµ µÇ¾úÀ¸¸ç, ​³²³à °£ Áõ»óÀÇ Â÷ÀÌ´Â º°·Î ¾ø¾ú´Ù.


ÃëÇÐ Àü ADHD¿¡ ´ëÇÑ ¹Ì±¹ ¼Ò¾Æû¼Ò³â Á¤½ÅÀÇÇÐȸÀÇ Áø·áÁöħ¿¡ µû¶ó, ¿ì¼± ºÎ¸ð±³À°À» 10ÁÖ°£ ½ÃÇàÇÑ ÈÄ¿¡µµ º°·Î Áõ»óÀÇ È£ÀüÀÌ ¾ø´Â ¾Æµ¿ 165¸íÀ» ¼±ÅÃÇÑ ÈÄ ¾à¹°Ä¡·á¸¦ ½ÃÇàÇÏ¿´´Ù. À§¾à¿¡ ºñÇØ ADHD Ä¡·áÁ¦´Â ADHD ÇÙ½ÉÁõ»ó¿¡´Â ºÐ¸íÇÑ Áõ»ó È£ÀüÀ» º¸¿´À¸³ª, ±â´É »óÀ¸·Î´Â ±×´ÙÁö È£ÀüÀ» º¸ÀÌÁö ¸øÇÏ´Â °æ¿ì°¡ ¸¹¾ÒÀ¸¸ç, Àü¹ÝÀûÀ¸·Î´Â Çзɱ⠾Ƶ¿¿¡¼­Ã³·³ Ä¡·á È¿°ú°¡ °­·ÂÇÏÁö ¾Ê¾Ò´Ù.


¾à 30%¿¡¼­ ºÎÀÛ¿ëÀ» È£¼ÒÇÏ¿´´Âµ¥, ¿©±â¿¡´Â Àáµé±â ¾î·Á¿ò, ½Ä¿åÀúÇÏ, üÁß°¨¼Ò, °¨Á¤Æø¹ß, Â¥Áõ, ¹Ýº¹ÀûÀÎ ÇൿÀ̳ª »ý°¢ µîÀÌ ÀÖ¾ú´Ù. 11%¿¡¼­ ºÎÀÛ¿ë ¶§¹®¿¡ ¾àÀ» Áß´ÜÇÏ¿´´Ù.
ÀÌÈÄ Á¶±â¿¡ Áø´ÜµÈ ADHD ¾Æµ¿À» ÃßÀû °üÂûÇÑ °á°ú, Àü¹ÝÀûÀ¸·Î Áõ»óÀÌ ´Ù¼Ò ³ª¾ÆÁö´Â °æÇâÀº º¸ÀÌÁö¸¸, 6³âÀÌ Áö³­ ÈÄ¿¡µµ 89%ÀÇ ¾Æµ¿ÀÌ ¿©ÀüÈ÷ ADHD·Î Áø´ÜµÉ Á¤µµ¿´À¸¸ç, ¿©ÀüÈ÷ Áߵ ÀÌ»óÀÇ ½É°¢ÇÑ Áõ»óÀ» °¡Áö°í ÀÖ¾ú´Ù. Àû´ëÀû ¹ÝÇ×Àå¾Ö³ª Ç°ÇàÀå¾ÖÀÇ µ¿¹ÝÁúȯÀ» °¡Áö°í ÀÖ´Â °æ¿ì ADHD°¡ À¯ÁöµÉ È®·üÀÌ 30% ´õ ³ô¾Ò´Ù.
